Fibre Deployment Update April 2016

posted 2 Apr 2016, 06:33 by Sigingstone Webmaster   [ updated 2 Apr 2016, 06:34 ]

Just a quick message to keep you informed on the latest update. Back in January/February time there have been flurries of Openreach activity in and around the village, as well as by Nash Manor and in Llysworney - you may have noticed some overhead fibre ducting coming into Sigingstone.

Though over the last few weeks to around a month the progress in the deployment on the ground seems to have slowed down, or wasn't that obvious, so I emailed Superfast Cymru for a progress update and got he following reply:

"We are still looking to complete fibre work across your area by the summer. I have also sent your email address and name to the Senior Project Manager for Openreach (who won't share it further) so that if they do need someone local, he can get in touch.
Many thanks,

So from the above message, Superfast Cymru with Openreach are still aiming to complete the fibre deployment to Sigingstone by the Summer this year. They have also given the Openreach Project Manager for the area my email address incase they need some help or local information from the village.

I will continue to ask for monthly progress reports from Superfast Cymru and Openreach to keep the village informed on the current situation, in case there are any delays or issues that will hinder the progression of the deployment.

I've also posted some pictures of the overhead fibre tubing coming into Sigingstone on the previous update here: Fibre Deployment Update March 2016
