Fibre Deployment Update 2nd March 2017

Post date: 02-Mar-2017 19:10:08

Parts of the information below has been superseded and is no longer valid. Please check the most recent updates.

The current status on the FTTP build within Sigingstone is that everything is currently looking on track for completion this month.

The SFC/Openreach tracker is also reflecting this current status by indicating that the build will be completed within 1 month if everything goes smoothly.

Please be aware that it may take 6-8 weeks after the build completion date until anyone can order a FTTP service with an ISP (i.e this could mean a ISP will be able to take FTTP order from around April/May time). Also any delays will cause the Ready For Service date to slip further into 2017.

You would have noticed within the last few months that there have been additional poles and chambers installed along with roadworks within the verges and carriageways. These are to house and distribute the FTTP infrastructure across the village. In some cases the existing chambers, ducts and poles may not be adequate enough in terms of space or due to regulations to house or affix the new infrastructure. Therefore replacements or additional infrastructure will need to be installed.

Openreach (or a contractor working on behalf of Openreach) will try to reduce and limit the impacts of these works by surveying and planning the route along with the position of any new equipment.

If there are any further delays or updates, I will let you know. The SFC/Openreach tracker should also be updated to reflect any delays.
