Fibre Deployment Update 17th March 2017

Post date: 17-Mar-2017 16:01:00

Parts of the information below has been superseded and is no longer valid. Please check the most recent updates.

There has been some additional works and challenges that have cropped up over the last few weeks. This has added some delay to completing the FTTP infrastructure within the village and surrounding area.

Some of the issues which have resulted in the delay include:

    • Additional Wayleave negotiation.

    • Highways and additional Wayleave approvals for new equipment.

    • Work to rectify recently identified blocked and collapsed ducts.

    • Revised policy to provide FTTP structures within 150m of properties, resulting in the need to add in additional structures to the build.

Some of the above aren't necessarily specific to the village but related to a near by locality which is within the same local project and build. Therefore has also impacted the RFS date to the village.

It is estimated that the FTTP infrastructure build will now complete in April 2017. This will result in an estimated Ready For Service (RFS) date, where you can order the new service, sometime in May/June 2017.

If there are any further delays or updates, I will let you know. The SFC/Openreach tracker should also be updated to reflect any delays, however the timescales shown here are quarterly dates rather then showing the current estimated month till able to order.
